Claims Process
Report the Incident
When a loss or damage occurs that coverage applies under your insurance policy, the first step is to contact your insurer immediately.
Protecting and Documenting Damaged Property
Under your conditions section of your insurance policy it states policy-holders must take proper action in regards to mitigating further damage. This can mean calling a contractor to tarp your roof, water removal, etc. Remember it is always a good idea to take as many photos before and after any work gets done.
Inspection and Assessment of Property Damage
An inspection will eventually be done to examine your loss with an insurance adjuster.
Preparing the Documentation
Along the whole process there are many important emails, repair invoices, estimates, receipts, and proposals that are significant and crucial in order to get maximized compensation
Settlement
Once the investigation is complete, the insurer will review the claim and assess its validity. If it meets the terms and conditions stated in your policy, the insurance company will approve the claim. Once approved your insurer will compensate you for the insurable damage that took place.
